Become an Ultimate Hauler, Just Like Your Mom
Question:
I’ve heard moms are the ultimate haulers. Can you recommend what gear I can use to become an ultimate hauler like my mom?

Moms are pretty resourceful and creative when it comes to facilitating family life. Basically, to be an ultimate mom-like hauler, you’re going to have to magically create more space in your life and in, on or behind your vehicle for something, be it for kids, bikes, stuffed animals or gear. We’ve outlined some of the go-to gear we’ve known moms to use over the years.
For the early years, moms stay active and get around with little ones using Thule strollers and child carriers. We recommend the Thule Chariot Cheetah XT # TH10100426-143 for taking the kids for a run or on all-day outing. But we’ve heard they’re exceptionally great for holding all your stuff when your kid decides they’d rather walk than ride. Holding stuff, not kids, is debatably a stroller's true purpose. And you’ll want a great one.
As kids get older and bigger, they develop hobbies of their own, hobbies that tend to come with a whole new set of logistics and gear to manage. What gear you’ll need obviously depends on what hobbies they take on, but there are a lot of creative solutions out there. Joining the soccer team support squad? No worries, get a cargo carrier like part # 63153 for hauling soccer balls and cooler of snacks. Your little one meets a horse and falls in love? We’ve got hitches to tow that horse and trailer all over the state. They get into triathlons, you can rack up your vehicle so everyone has a ride at the race. We really like the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE # HR1400Z, a great platform bike rack that will carry 2 bikes.
Moms also do a lot of prep to avoid tension and crying over lack of space in the vehicle for road trips. Hitch cargo carriers to the rescue. Adding one of these is like adding an extra trunk. Load them up with coolers, beach chairs, a grill, you name it. And when the kids wants to bring a friend…you can always add a roof box, like part # CTC-18S too, for luggage, not the friends!
I hope this helps answer your question! And let us know if you need help outfitting your life to be an ultimate hauler like your mom.
