Rack Recommendation for 2008 Ford F-250 with Camper Shell for Carrying Long Heavy Canoe
Question:
I have a Ford F250 XLT Superduty Longbed with shell. I want to haul a large neoprene canoe but dont know what roof rack to purchase. the canoe is 100 pounds and long. thanks Tony

For a long, heavy canoe you would want to go with a ladder rack on top of the camper shell since that will give you a heavier duty set of crossbars than a roof rack that will be wider to better stabilize the longer canoe.
For that the TracRac CapRac part # TH29200XT would be your best option. This comes with load stops as well to use for anchors for tie downs and to align the canoe on the rack. For straps we have the # EM05717 which will work well for securing the canoe.
