2006 Ford Explorer 7-Way Has More Wires Than the Curt T-Connector Harness 55384
Question:
My 7way connect has a red and a blue wire not shown on the C55384. Can you help? Thanks

Expert Reply:
That is because the Curt T-Connector Harness # C55384 that you referenced is designed to add a 4-Way connector to a vehicle that already has a fully-functioning 7-Way connector. The red and blue wire that you are seeing will most likely send signals to your trailer to activate the trailer's brakes (should you be using a brake controller) and reverse lights or 12V power. You can verify this by using a Circuit Tester # PTW2992 to test the functions on your 7-Way.
I have attached an article on wiring for you to check out as well.
