Many trailer hitches, such as the one you have installed on your 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer, are rated for use with weight distribution systems. A weight distribution system like the Equal-i-zer # EQ37100ET can be used to ensure a smooth, level ride, fight sway issues when towing and will also increase the capacity of the trailer hitch. If you use a weight distribution system, the towing weight capacity of your trailer hitch is 7,600 pounds. When towing without a weight distribution system, it is limited to 4,000 pounds. I have attached a helpful article on weight distribution systems if you would look to look into these further.

You will also want to verify that towing capacity of your Trailblazer. Looking at the online owner's manual, there are a few variables that can change how much your vehicle can tow, depending on the engine size and whether it is a 4WD or 2WD. For example, the 2WD Trailblazer EXT with a L6 Engine and a 3.42 axle ratio has a maximum trailer weight limit of 4,800 pounds. I recommend checking your owner's manual to see what the trailer weight limit on your specific model vehicle is.

The towing capacity of your setup will always be limited by its weakest component. This means that even if the trailer hitch is rated to tow 4,000 pounds, if the vehicle's capacity is less than that, you will need to follow the vehicle's limits.

I have also attached a great article on towing a trailer that you may find helpful.
