Recommended Wiring Harness for 2015 Mini Countryman
Question:
Hi, Need to wire a 2015 MINI Countryman to a 4 pin small trailer for lights no brakes. I see you have two converters - the Tekeonsha and teh Curt. Do thy both do the same thing? Any preference? Do you have a wiring schematic to know which wires connect to my mini? Any help you can offer is appreciated. Thank you.

Both the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness # 119250KIT and the Curt Powered Tail Light Converter # C59236 are universal, hardwire kits that are confirmed to work with your 2015 Mini Countryman and will install the needed 4-way connector to power your trailer's rear signal lights. I personally recommend the Tekonsha Kit simply because they specialize in wiring products, and they are well known for their reliability. This particular kit connects without splicing into your vehicle wiring and also features circuit protection to safeguard itself and your Mini Countryman from harmful electrical shorts or mis-wire issues.
The color wires coming from the Tekonsha module are white for ground, yellow for left turn/brake, green for right turn/brake, brown for tail lights and red for stop.
Vehicle manufacturers will often change factory wire colors over the years, so the best way to ensure you make the correct connections with the Tekonsha module is to use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to test the wire functions on your vehicle. You can have somebody in the vehicle go through the turn signals, brakes and running light functions while you test the wires.
I have attached the installation instructions for this harness as well as an article on wiring that you may find helpful.
