On your 2008 Chevrolet Suburban, if you already have the factory 7-way connector at the rear of the vehicle, then all you will need will be the Prodigy P3 Brake Controller, # 90195.
The controller includes the pigtail wiring harness you will need to install the unit. The wires that you will need to connect are located under the driver's side dash. Review the attached installation video. At the 2:01 mark, our tech will show where the blunt wires are located and how to install the P3 to these wires. Although, this installation video is on a 2009 Cadillac Escalade, the installation will be the same on your Suburban.
If your vehicle does not have a 7-way trailer connecter installed, then other than the P3 controller, you will also need the Replacement Custom Multi-Tow 7-Way and 4-Way Trailer Connectors, # 30955.This 7-way connecter will attach to your vehicle using the included mounting bracket. The plug on the connector will attach to US car connecter that is located under the rear of your Suburban. The attached video will explain how the Hopkins connector will typically install on Chevrolet model trucks ands SUVs.
The installation of the P3 brake controller will be the same on your Suburban with or without the 7-way connector installed.
