Recommended Bike Rack for a 1-1/4 Inch Hitch on 2008 Subaru Outback

Class II bike racks for 1-1/4 inch hitch on a 2008 Subaru Outback Wagon?

There are a number of bike rack options for your 2008 Subaru Outback. Should you be looking to transport just two bikes, I recommend the Swagman Chinook, # S64683. It is a platform-style rack with a weight capacity of 45 lbs per bike and folds down for access to your vehicle's rear cargo area. I have included a link to a video review of the Chinook for you.
If you want to move more than four bikes, I recommend the Thule Hitching Post Pro # TH934XTR. It is a hanging rack with a built-in anti-rattle device and cradles that hold your bikes at three points for optimum stability control for your bikes. You can lock this rack to your hitch with the use of Snug-Tite Hitch Lock # THSTL2.
Please note that when using any hanging rack you'll need bike frame adapter bar # 64005 if your bike is dual-suspension, has a step-through frame or you want to carry a small children's bike. The bar will give those bikes a horizontal mounting point so they can be carried by the rack.
