If you have already run the wiring from the 7-way that you installed up to the cab of your 2010 Acura MDX, then a brake controller like the Tekonsha Prodigy P2, # 90885, is a proportional brake controller that will work well with your vehicle.
The controller includes a brake controller harness the will wire in this way: white wire on brake controller harness to vehicle ground, brake controller black wire to 12-volt power source, brake controller red wire to the cold side of the vehicle's brake light switch, and the brake controller blue wire to the electric brake circuit at the 7-way connector.
If you have not wired for the cab of your Acura, then the Wiring Kit for 2,4,6, and 8 Brake Electric Trailer Brake Controllers, # 5506, will allow you to install the Prodigy P2 controller. This kit includes wiring, circuit breakers, and all the connections that are needed to install your brake controller.
I have linked an article that will explain in more detail on how to install a brake controller from scratch for you to review. The article includes a wiring diagram of the typical installation of a brake controller.
