TorkLift Camper Tie Downs for 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500HD Short Bed, with Cab Steps and Reese Hitch

Question:

I have the 2006 silverado 2500HD Duramax with a 6.5 bed The truck has a tubular running board which ends at the back of the cab - is that a problem? And, I dont see any holes in the frame either front or back where the unit would be mounted. I have a reese tow hitch in the back. What would you recommend ?

Helpful Expert Reply:

If the tube step on your 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500 short bed is only under the cab of the truck and no part of it is attached beyond the back of the cab then you would look at the tie downs for models without a board or step under the truck bed and with a non-TorkLift aftermarket hitch.

For the front you could then use # TLC2205. For the rear, # TLR3501. The rear tie downs will only work on aftermarket hitches that have side plates with at least a 4" x 4" footprint which seems to be what the Reese family of hitches have for your truck but it is worth measuring to be sure. To clarify the 4" square is where the tie down would attach to the truck/hitch. Drilling is required for proper installation of the rear tie downs but not the front. I have linked the instructions so you can see how they install.
