Best Electric Brake Controller on a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD
Question:
I have a fairly stock 2009 Chev 2500HD diesel and want to install a break controller for a 2 axle either 5th wheel or travel trailer. What do you recommed? I will be doing the installation myself.

To install an electric brake controller in your 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 you'll need to hardwire the controller under your dash. All of the wiring is already run but there isn't a plug in connector.
The controller I recommend is the Prodigy P3 # 90195. It's one of the best on the market because of how reliable it is plus the easy to use LCD. I've linked a video of the P3 being installed into a 2008 Silverado for you to take a look at.
If your truck doesn't already have a 7-way trailer connector at the rear bumper you can use # PK11898 to install one. Or if your truck has the round connector and needs the trailer 7-way connector use # 30955 instead of hardwiring.
You may also have some connections to make under the hood of your truck. I've linked an article that helps with the entire installation, including this step, for you.
