Is Drawbar Required for Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch on 2017 Toyota Prius

I am interested in buying a trailer hitch for my 2017 Toyota Prius 4. The specs on the drawtite receiver says drawbar not included. What is the drawbar? Thanks

The Draw-Tite Class I Sport Frame Receiver Hitch # 24966 referenced in your question is confirmed to fit your 2017 Toyota Prius. A drawbar like the Draw-Tite # 3593, which is also referred to as a ball mount, is used for holding a hitch ball that is needed for towing. This is not a required component for the trailer hitch, and it can be obtained separately if one is needed.

If you intend to use the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch for non-trailer loads such as bike racks and cargo carriers, a drawbar will not be needed.
