I have a 2016 Toyota 4 runner. Will these crossbars lock into the factory rails that are installed on the vehicle?

The SportRack roof rack # SR1098 for your 2016 Toyota 4Runner features a special fastener that requires a special tool (included) to tighten or loosen the rack on the factory side rails on the vehicle. So while it isn't a traditional lock it is a theft deterrent because of the uncommon fastener/tool.

For a system with traditional locks (at the feet and bars) I recommend Malone roof rack # MPG201. I have linked a video review of this roof rack for you.
