Whenever you are looking into buying a Weight Distribution (WD) system, you will first want to figure out what the Total Tongue Weight (TTW) of your setup is.

You can find your TTW by measuring the Tongue Weight (TW) of your fully loaded and ready-to-go trailer, plus the weight of any cargo behind the read axle of your 2016 GMC Sierra 2500. Keep in mind that the TW of your trailer should be 10-15 percent of your Gross Trailer Weight (GTW). You can use the Sherline Trailer Tongue Weight Scale # e99044 to find out the TW of your fully loaded and ready-to-go trailer.

Once you know the TTW of your setup you will then want to choose a WD system with a weight range that your TTW falls in the middle of.

The Blue Ox WD systems are a great option since they come with integrated sway control. The Spring Bars are also interchangeable so you can swap out the bars depending on the TTW of your setup. Blue Ox uses dots to help you keep track of what bars you are currently using. No dot is up to 350 lbs, 1 dot is up to 550 lbs, 2 dots is up to 750 lbs, 3 dots is up to 1,000 lbs, 4 dots is up to 1,5000 lbs, and 5 dots is up to 2,000 lbs.

Based off of your Gross Trailer Weight, if your TTW falls between 750-1,000 lbs, then the Blue Ox SwayPro # BXW1000 is the system that you will want to use.
