Fifth Wheel Trailer to Gooseneck Hitch Adapter Recommendation for Dodge Ram 3500 Short Bed

Question:

have 1995 40 ft 3 axle 5th wheel 11500 lbs dry wieght, need an offset to accomplish moving, with a 6 ft bed, can one of or both be permanantly mounted, via welding, or is bolting the best method, was thinking about just leaving it attached to the trailer, getting older, do not want to pick it up and install at every move

For a 5th wheel trailer to gooseneck hitch adapter with an offset, I recommend the Ranch Hitch Universal 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Coupler Adapter with 8 inch Offset, # AM3139. This adapter can be bolted onto the trailer pin box and you can leave it installed so you do not have to remove it and re-install it every time. The hitch is meant to be bolted into place.

The Ranch Hitch adapter is designed for trailers with a standard or extended pin box up to 24 inches long (measured diagonally). I also recommend Safety Chains for Ranch Hitch 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Coupler Adapter, # AM3109, which is designed to be compatible with the ranch hitch.
