Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch & Rear-Axle Air Bag Kit for 2017 Ford F-250 4WD with 6-3/4-Ft Bed
Question:
Hello, My vehicle is a 17 F250 super duty, crew cab, 6.75foot bed 4WD. I need a 5th wheel hitch and air bags to tow my 10k pound fifth wheel camper with approx 2k in pin weight. I was interested in the following Hitch: Item # 16516 or PS30857,RP50074-58 I was also interested in the Firestone Ride-Rite system, but would consider Air lift as well. If you guys could recommend some combination of those that would work that would be great. I know these items install in the same general area so conflict is possible. I have been researching this for some time but cant figure anything out. Thank you very much for your time.

For your 2017 Ford F-250 4WD with 6-3/4-foot bed you will need a slider-type 5th wheel hitch like the Pro Series # PS30121 or the Curt # 16516 along with a base rail installation kit like # RP50074-58. A slider hitch will give you the clearance you need for making sharp turns. Between the two I suggest the Curt hitch since it offers more slider travel. You can still use the Reese install kit # RP50074-58 since it costs a bit less.
For a wiring harness for the truck bed you can use part # C57010 which plugs right in at your existing bumper-mounted 7-way.
For your rear-axle air bag kit I suggest the Firestone Ride-Rite # F2600 which offers no-drill installation and compatibility with 5th wheel installations. Just make sure you have at least 7-1/2-inches from the inside edge of the tire to the outside edge of the frame.
