Weight Distribution System Recommendation for Trailer with 1,585 lbs Tongue Weight
Question:
I have recently purchased a Highlander 31rgr toy hauler. Dry weight it just under 10,000 lbs and the advertised tongue weight is 1585lbs. The service department techs told me the existing wight distribution set up I have is sufficient. Im not convinced. What would you recommend as a weight distribution system with sway control? I am pulling it with a 2005 Dodge 3500 crew cab long bed. Thank you.

Fora tongue weight as high as what you listed the Strait Line system part # RP66075 would be what I recommend. The bars of this kit are rated for up to 1,700 lbs tongue weight so it would work well for you. Plus it features only sway control on market designed to fight sway before it starts. For a shank you would then want the part # RP54977 which has the needed capacity as well. This is for 2-1/2 inch hitches like what you tow vehicle most likely has.
For a hitch ball you then would want the part # A-90.
