Fifth Wheel and Rail Kit Recommend for 2016 Chevy 3500HD Towing Trailer with Max Turn Nose
Question:
2016 Chevy 3500 HD 4x4 crew cab 66inch bed towing a 2015 Keystone Cougar 337fls with max turn cap. Lippert LIPP1621 king pin height with trailer level is approx. 52.5. truck bed height is 37inch measured at far rear of bed. we have been told we do not need a slider with the max turn cap, what are you recommendations for a fifth wheel Hitch? Ive been looking at the Curt A20 which is a slider, but im worried about pin box hitting top of truck bed rails when it is moved back 12. I know 20k is way overkill, but I do not want to buy another hitch if we get a heavier camper in the future.

Normally for short bed trucks a slider hitch is needed to allow you to make tight turns, but since you have a trailer that has a narrow nose it would not be necessary. The Curt A20 hitch part # C16140 is a great hitch that would work well for you. This is the stationary hitch.
For a rail kit you would want to go with a custom fit kit like the part # C16411-204 which is custom fit for your 2016 Chevy Silverado 3500. Custom kits limit the amount of drilling needed for install and cut the install time in half so they are a great option.
