Fifth Wheel Hitch and Rail Kit Recommendation for 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500 Short Bed

Question:

hi, i am looking to set up a 5th wheel hitch in my truck has never had one before it is a 2004 chevy silverado hd 2500 6 1/2ft box. i need it to tow a 5th wheel camper 27ft could you tell me what all i need for it to be hooked up. i have nothing right now.

We have just what you need to allow your 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500HD short bed tow a fifth wheel trailer. Since you have a bed that is shorter than 8 feet in length you have to go with a slider hitch to allow the needed turning clearance. For that we have the Reese Slider part # RP30075 which I really like. It has a great jaw design to minimize noise and movement plus a round tube slider that will operate smoother than a square tube.

For a rail kit to mount the hitch I would recommend a custom fit kit like the part # RP50064-58 as it will minimize drilling when installed and will minimize install time too.
