Anti-Rattle Hitch Pin for Use with Brophy 1-5/8 to 2 Inch Hitch Adapter
Question:
I have a 1-5/8inch hitch on my 2000 Jeep Wrangler. I recently purchased a hitch mount bike carrier with a 2inch hitch so I had to order the Brophy HT58 1-5/8inch to 2inch adapter. Im not looking to purchase a hitch pin with anti rattle properties to secure the Brophy HT58 to my hitch. Which anti rattle hitch pin would you recommend? My hitch supports a 5/8inch pin. Thank you

Expert Reply:
The locking anti-rattle hitch pin I recommend for your 1-5/8 inch hitch and the Brophy adapter # HT58 is the SilentACT # SHP2082. This device has a block that is small enough to fit into the hollow shank of the adapter and because the cam lever will pull the adapter shank tight to the receiver the pin doesn't have to be 5/8 inches in diameter. That is why it can be used for 1-1/4 to 2-1/2 inch hitches.
