Recommendation for a Weigh Distribution System That Will Work With a 2014 Jeep Renegade and Trailer

Question:

I need to find a good easy to use weight distribution kit. I liked the curt trutrack but seems difficult to use. How is the RP66561? I see that it has less friction and noise and tows more, but is it easier to adjust?

The adjustment setting on both the Reese Steadi-Flex System, # RP66561, and a Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System, # C17501, are pretty similar between the two systems. Bracket position, head angle and height are the basic adjustments that both systems use. As for towing more the Curt system has a model that has a 15,000 lbs gross trailer weight and a 1,500 tongue weight which is on par with the Reese system.

When trying to decide on a weight distribution system for your towing rig, you will need to know the total tongue weight of your set-up. The total tongue weight will be a fully loaded ready to tow trailer, plus any weight located behind the rear axle of your Jeep Renegade. Once you have found your total tongue weight, you will be able to decided on the correct system for your towing application.

Ideally, you want to pick a WD system where your total tongue will fall in between that system's tongue weight range. For example, the Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution System, # RP66561, that you referenced has a tongue weight range of 700 - 1,400 lbs. If your total tongue weight falls in between this range, then this system would work well with your towing rig.

I have attached two articles for you to review. One is on how to determine the correct weight distribution system. The other article will explain how to find your total tongue weight between your trailer and tow vehicle.
