Which Blue Ox Sway Pro System for Trailer that Weighs 5,300 lbs

Question:

I have a question on the correct size Blue OX SwayPro kit I need to buy for my travel trailer. The trailers GVWR is 5800 lbs. but I plan on being closer to 5300 lbs. when loaded and ready to tow. Should I get the 750lb spring bars BXW0750 or go ahead and get the 1000lb BXW1000? Thank you in advance!

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.

Your trailer weighing 5,300 lbs means the tongue weight would be between 530 and 795 lbs. So most likely the part # BXW0750 would be the correct system but if you end up on the higher end you would be creeping into the territory of the # BXW1000.
