The only base plates compatible with your 2010 Mini Clubman and the Stormaster towbar # RM-501 are the Roadmaster EZ Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # 521877-1. If you need safety cables, I recommend the RoadMaster 68" Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables - 6,000 lbs # RM-643 to go with this combination. I recommend using Loctite Threadlocker 262 - High Strength - Up to 3/4" Nuts/Bolts - 0.20-Fl-Oz Tube # LT37420 to install the base plates.
For your tow bar wiring, I recommend the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. This kit will allow you to use diodes to utilize your factory wiring in your Mini while still protecting it. It will give you the extra functions in a cable connection to your vehicle that can be utilized as well as the clean connection on the front of your Mini Clubman.
For your braking system, I recommend the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System - Proportional # SM99251. This kit once installed needs no adjusting, so it becomes a simple plug and play option. This kit is easy to install and is extremly reliable. It is the favorite with our installers.
The last thing you will need is a high-low adapter. I've attached an article to help you determine the proper fit for your combination and have attached the link to your options.
This is a complete system for your 2010 Mini Cooper Clubman S.
