Can a Reese Goose Box 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Air Ride Adapter be Used in a 2016 Ford F-150 Short Bed

Question:

I am about to purchase a 2016 Ford F150 with a 6 1/2 foot box and wonder if the Reese Goose Box 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Air Ride Coupler Adapter will work in that size box? And what gooseneck ball do you suggest works best if the Reese adapter works? If not then is there another gooseneck adapter that would work for this pickup? Thanks.

The Reese Goose Box # RP85FR does not add any length beyond the factory pin box which is what you would need for a short bed 2016 Ford F-150 in order to make 90 degree turns without the trailer hitting the truck cab. There aren't any 5th wheel to gooseneck adapters that offer enough of an offset to make 90 degree turns with a short bed truck UNLESS the trailer was designed specifically so that short bed truck could tow it.

Ideally you would use a slider 5th wheel trailer hitch to tow the trailer because it will provide more travel effectively moving the pivot point of the trailer so as to avoid contact with the truck cab. If the gooseneck hitch in the truck is a B&W Turnover Ball then you can use the Companion slider # BWRVK3400-5W which offers 12 inches of travel.
