Will I Need to Lower My Weight Distribution Bars Tongue Weight Capacity to Tow a Smaller Camper

Question:

Hello, I have an E2 10,000 pound round bar equalizing hitch 1000 pound bars. My new camping trailer is 4000 pounds empty. I can front load to achieve at least 500 pounds tongue weight. I want a safe ride, so I am questioning if if need to swap out to 800 pound bars. Your online information shows the min-max for the 800 pound bars to be 400-800 pounds. I do not see a min for the 1000 pound unit, although one of the videos says 400 pounds. I can reliably count on at least 500 pounds on the tongue. What is your recommendation in this case, again with safety as the primary consideration. Thank you!

You will not have to change the your bars of your Fastway E2 System, # FA94-00-1000, to tow your new camper. This Fastway system has a tongue weight range of 400 - 1000 lbs. As long as your tongue weight falls in between this range, you will be able to two your camper safely.

However if you wish, you can replace the 1000 lbs bars with 800 lbs bar, # FA94-02-0899. This bar will lower the tongue weight range to 400-800 lbs. These round bars are sold by the piece and you will have to order two to replace the bars on your system.
