Is it Safe to Use a 17 Year Old Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with a Revolution Pin Box

Question:

I have a hitch model 30047 its about 17 years old but seems to work fine with the revolution. Should I have any concerns because of the age ?

If your Reese 5th wheel trailer hitch # RP30047 is in good working order and well maintained according to the manual then there isn't any reason to be concerned. You can inspect the hardware, make sure the bolts are in good shape, the jaws open and closed and stay in the position they are set to, and check the state of the springs by flipping the head over. If it all looks good and operates as it should you will be good to go.

The Reese 16K hitch # RP30047 has been around a good long while. It is the workhorse of the Reese line up and is a solid all around performer so it tends to hold up well.
