Brake Controller Options For Trailer Towed With Different Vehicles
Question:
Our club has a 20 ft. trailer filled with agility equipment approx. 10,000 lbs.. Im looking for a new controller that will self calibrate as we have different vehicles pulling the trailer to and from events. Any recommendations? Thanks,

The brake controllers we offer are not self-calibrating as you mentioned. If you go with a wireless system like the Tekonsha Prodigy RF, part # TK94FR, it has to be paired each time you use a different towing vehicle.
For a wired brake controller like part # 90195, you would need to install a mounting bracket and a wire harness for each vehicle. Depending on the vehicles that are going to be towing, there are some vehicles that can use a simple plug-in adapter for the brake controller, while others will require hardwiring.
If you let me know what the year make and model of the vehicle you plan on using for towing I will be glad to make some recommendations for plug-in adapters if they are available.
I have attached a link to a couple of helpful articles about brake controllers you can check out.
