The Tow Ready T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness, part # 118517, will only fit the 2009 Toyota Yaris Sedan. You will need the Draw-Tite Upgraded Circuit Protected Taillight Converter Hardwire Kit, part # 119178KIT, for the Hatchback model. This wiring harness has a taillight converter that will convert your vehicles 3-wire system to the trailers 2-wire system. It will not work on a Toyota Yaris with LED taillights.

The Draw-Tite wiring harness will need to be hardwired to the vehicles wiring system. There are 5 wires that will need to be wired to your 2009 Toyota Yaris at various places. The White wire will need to be attached to a ground point. The other 4 wires, you will use the included circuit tester to find out what goes where.

You will disconnect the plugs from the back of your driver and passenger side taillight assemblies. Next test the pins on the plugs that connect to the tail lights to find what wire does what. The Brown wire on the kit is for the tail lights when you turn on your headlights. The Yellow wire is driver side turn signal. The Red wire is for the brake lights. The Green wire is the passenger side turn signal.
