Parts Needed To Flat-Tow 1982 Jeep CJ-5 With Roadmaster Falcon Tow Bar

Question:

I have a roadmaster falcon 5250 assembly and need to know what I need to make it work with my 1982 Jeep CJ-5. I will be pulling the CJ with my 1998 Dutch Star diesel pusher presently equipped to tow a 2004 Saturn Vue. What need I change to tow the CJ?

We do not have a custom base plate kit that is designed for your 1982 Jeep, but I do have a solution that will work for you.

First you will need to install the Universal Blue Ox Bolt-On Base Plate Bracket Kit, part # BX88230. This attaches to the bumper on your Jeep. Since the brackets must be mounted to a flat metal surface you will most likely need to modify and or reinforce your bumper.

You will then need the Roadmaster Tow Bar to Blue Ox Brackets Adapter, part # RM-031. You can use your Falcon tow bar with these adapters.

You will also need a safety cable. I recommend part # RM-643.

For lighting I recommend magnetic lights like part # TLL21RK. There is no custom wiring for your CJ-5.

Chances are you will need a high-low adapter to tow your Jeep as level as possible. I have attached a link to our product page for the high-low adapters we have available.
