The Curt Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver, part # C13152, is the trailer hitch that I recommend for your 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport. It has a 2 inch hitch receiver opening and has a max Gross Trailer Weight (GTW) of 6,000 lbs and a max Tongue Weight (TW) of 900 lbs. When using a Weight Distribution (WD) system your GTW will be increased to 8,000 lbs. You will want to check your Santa Fe owner's manual for any weight limit guidelines as well.
If your Santa Fe came with the factory tow package then I recommend going with the T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness, part # C56332, from Curt to give you a 4-Way harness near your rear bumper. It is a simple plug-n-play option.
If your Santa Fe came without the factory tow package then I recommend going with the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, part # 118571, from Tekonsha. You will need to run the included black wire to your battery, but it will also provide you with a 4-Way harness at the rear of your Santa Fe.
You will also need to install the Universal Wiring Harness # ETBC7 to give yourself a 4-Way and a 7-Way wiring harness. The # ETBC7 will plug into your 4-Way at the rear of your Santa Fe and then you will need to run 2 wires up to the front of your vehicle. One will be to supply the 12V power to the wiring harness and the other will be for the signal from the brake controller.
The brake controller that I recommend using is the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 as it is one of our most popular brake controllers that is easy to setup and use. You will need to do some splicing using the included pigtail. I have attached an installation video of the # ETBC7 and the P3 # 90195 being installed on a 2014 Santa Fe for you to review as well.
I have also included some other installation videos for you to check out.
