To bypass the factory brake controller in your 2014 Chevy Silverado 3500 you will just need to do a few things.
Under the dash in your Silverado, to the left of the steering column, there should be a tow package wire bundle that is held together with a white tag. The functions for each wire should be labeled on the tag. You will find a red/black wire for the 12 volt power that will go to the brake controller black wire.
Next there should be a white ground wire that will go to the white wire on the brake controller. The light blue wire will go to the brake controller red wire for input from the brake switch.
For the blue wire on the brake controller, you will just need some 12 gauge wire # 12-1-1, which is sold by the foot, to reach the back of the truck from the brake controller. You will attach one end of the wire to the brake controller blue wire, then route the wire through the firewall, under the truck, and to the back of the 7-way. At the back of the 7-way, you will find the wire that is in the 7 o'clock position. Remove it and attach the new wire you ran in its place.
