Confirmed Tire Cable Chains For 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon With 225/60-18 Tires

Question:

I just received my order for two Glacier Chains. My tire size of my car, 225/60/ Ri8 is not on the attached list and I wanted to make sure I have the right Chains. They are Stock No. 1046. I also wanted to make sure that chains are recommended over socks, as I see both suggested on your web page. You also indicated that socks were sure not to cause damage. I am hoping we wont need either for our upcoming trip to Lake Tahoe, but I want to make sure if we do, I fulfill the CA HYW requirements. Thanks!

I went through our fit guide and see the 225/60-18 tires are listed as a confirmed fit for the Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains, # PW1046. The tag included with the chains may not have some tire sizes listed. Since your vehicle is so new the tire size may have been added after the chains you received were made and packaged. I called my contact at Glacier and they told me the # PW1046 is confirmed as a fit for your tires.

Using snow socks would be good if you just needed to briefly use them but the cable chains would be better if traveling for any distance.
