When trying to decide on a weight distribution system for your towing rig, you will need to know the total tongue weight of your set-up. The total tongue weight will be a fully loaded ready to tow trailer, plus any weight located behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle. Once you have found your total tongue weight, you will be able to decide on the correct system for your towing application.
Once you have your total tongue weight, you want to decide on a weight distribution system that has a tongue weight range that your total tongue weight will fall almost in the middle.
With the information that you provided; you're probably looking at a tongue weight around 1000 lbs. In this case, the Equalizer Hitch, # EQ37120ET, is the hitch I recommend between the two you reference. The tongue weight range on this hitch is 800-1,200 lbs which will allow your set-up to fall almost in the middle.
I have attached an article that will explain how to the total tongue weight of your towing rig. I also recommend using # e99044 trailer tongue scale when trying to find your total tongue weight.
