Can I Lift A Trailer With Torsion-Axle Rubber Ride Suspension?

Question:

Id like to purchase a Dexter Axle Lift Kit. I found the following in my manual: The Dexter optional lift kit will raise the RV approximately 2”. Check with your RV dealer to see if the lift kit can be added aftermarket on your RV not available on all models. I went back to the brochure for my 2008 Jayco Jay Feather Sport 218 and found the axle is a TorFlex independent torsion-axle rubber ride suspension system. Can you point me in the direction of the correct lift kit. Will I notice a difference in how the trailer handles?

We have two lift kit options for Dexter Axles. We have the Torflex Lift Kit - Tandem Axle - 2-7/8" Lift # K71-724-02 for number 11 axles or # K71-725-02 for number 12 axles. This will lift your trailer by that specified amount by raising your trailer frame.

Either kit will raise your center of gravity slightly, which will change a little of the feel of the trailer, but it won't make a huge difference in handling.
