Parts Needed to Flat Tow 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with D-Ring Bumper
Question:
I am looking for a inexpensive way yo tow my jeep wrngler unlimited behind my motorhome. I hve seen a few older model tow bars on craiglist - can i use these adapters to hook the tow bar to my D-Ring bumper? Looking at a stowmaster 5000 and a roadmaster falcom 5250. Thanks

As long as the bumper on your 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited has D-rings on it, you will be able to attach a tow bar like the Roadmaster Falcon 5250 you referenced in your question. If the D-rings on your bumper are 3/4 inches thick, you will use part # RM-035. If the rings are 1 inch thick you will instead use part # RM-035-1.
These adapter brackets are compatible with all Roadmaster motor-home-mounted tow bars.
For safety cables, I recommend the RoadMaster 68 Inch Single Hook # RM-643 with a 6,000 pound capacity.
For a lighting solution, I recommend the Roadmaster # RM-2120 kit. This is a simple and cost-efficient way to provide the required signal lights for your Jeep Wrangler Unlimited while it is being towed. These can be installed without needing to tap into the vehicle's wiring or run wires under the car. I have attached an installation video so you can see how they work.
Lastly, you will need a supplemental braking system to control the brakes on your Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. I recommend the Blue Ox Patriot Portable Braking System # BLU37TR. This is a great proportional braking system that will physically press down on the brake pedal inside the towed vehicle at the same time and with the same intensity that you apply to them in your motorhome. I have included an installation video for you to look at.
You will likely also need a high-low adapter to keep your tow bar level. I have attached a link to our available selection as well as a helpful article that will describe why these are needed and how to choose the right one.
