Trailer Running Lights Not Working with 2014 Nissan Frontier

Question:

I have a 7 pin connection at the rear. I dont have any running lighs working. Im getting no power to the rear plug. I have all the harnesses hooked up in the passengers kick panel. I has two relays. Dont know if one of the relays arent working or i have a broken wire somewhere.I checked all fuses under hood and are ok. Trying to find a wiring diagram somewhere to tell me what relay does what of if its a wire? The truck came with this hooked up already. everything but running lights work. Can you help?

This is actually a fairly common issue with certain Nissan vehicles but it should be a simple fix.

It sounds like the relay for the trailer running light circuit is either missing or needs to be replaced. This relay should be located behind the passenger side kick panel along with the harness. The relay should be blue in color. I have attached a picture that shows where the relay will plug in.

If you find that the relay is missing or needs to be replaced, you can use one of the blue relays from the Curt Rlay Kit # C57000.

If all the needed relays are in place and the trailer running lights still aren't working I would make sure the issue isn't actually on the trailer side. Have you actually tested the vehicle's 4-Way connector with a circuit tester to see if you're getting power on the running lights pin? If you do, and you show power, the problem is somewhere on the trailer.
