Recommendation for Transporting Wheelchair with 2008 Infiniti EX35
Question:
Can a bike rack be used to carry a wheelchair? If so what do you recommend for a 2008 Infinity EX35? Could the same rack be used on a Hyundai Santa Fe?

I may have a solution for you, however a trunk bike rack cannot be used to safely transport a wheelchair on your 2008 Infiniti EX35.
To transport your wheelchair, I recommend looking at a hitch-mounted cargo carrier.
The Curt Class I Receiver Hitch # C11510 is confirmed to fit your Infiniti EX35 and will provide a Class I, 1-1/4 inch hitch opening to be used with compatible hitch-mounted accessories. This has a 150 pound tongue weight capacity and a 1,500 pound towing weight capacity, although you will also want to check the vehicle's capacities as listed in the owner's manual. I have attached the installation details for your review.
Then depending on the size and weight of your wheelchair, the Curt Cargo Carrier # C18110 may be a great option. This rack has inside dimensions of 47-11/16 inches long and 19-1/2 inches wide. The weight of the carrier is around 30 pounds, so the wheelchair will need to be under 120 pounds to stay below the trailer hitch tongue weight capacity. I have attached a video review of this product for you to check out.
I recommend adding the Curt Stretchable Cargo Net # C18200 to secure the wheelchair to the carrier.
The same cargo carrier can be used on your Hyundai Sante Fe as long as it also has a trailer hitch installed. If you are able to give me the year of the vehicle, I would be happy to provide you with a custom fit trailer hitch recommendation.
