Will Using the 2 Ton Floor Jack Help Raise a Trailer to Free a Jack Caster Wheel From the Ground

Question:

The castor wheel om my A-frame trailer has sunk into the dirt so I cannot remove it. Can I use this 2 ton Jack to lift the tongue on the trailer hitch so as to remove the castor wheel? Thank-you for your time and advice,

It is possible to use the 2-Ton Floor Jack, # PTW1605, to help raise the your trailer tongue to free your jack caster wheel from the ground.

Two things you would want to make sure you do before and while using the jack. First, find a 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick piece of plywood that will be big enough to sit the floor jack on while you are using the unit. The wood will provide for a strong base for the jack and will prevent the jack from sinking in to the ground when in use.

Second, if it is possible, try to use the jack stands as a safety measure when using the jack. You should place the stand under the A-frame as added support and safety when you begin to use the jack. Using couple more pieces of plywood under the stands will help keep the jacks from sinking into the ground.
