TracRac SR Install On A 2017 Chevy Silverardo Where Stake Pockets Dont Fit

Question:

I have a new 2017 Chevy 2500 and a new Trac Rake SR but the stake pockets on the truck do not allow the rubber mounting blocks of the trac rake to grab enough for a secure connection to the truck. Is there a different install kit from Trac Rake for the chevy trucks?

For your 2017 Chevy 2500, the TracRac SR Sliding Truck Bed Ladder Rack - Full Size Pickup Trucks - 1,250 lbs # TH43002XT-780 is a confirmed fit for your vehicle if you have an 8 foot bed, or # TH43002XT-781 if you have a 6-1/2 foot bed. This will fit with the front stake pockets, but uses a clamp at the rear.

If the front pocket of this system isn't setting right, the manufacturer suggests giving the nut a couple tightening turns prior to pushing the rubber block into place to help it compress better and then finish tightening it. The rear no longer uses those rubber blocks at all, so if you are using an older TracRac, you will need a new base rail kit.

If you have an 8 foot bed, you will need the Base Rails for TracRac SR Sliding Truck Bed Ladder Racks # TH21780.
If you have a 6.5 foot bed, you will need Base Rails # TH21781.
If you have a 5.5 foot bed, you will need Base Rails # TH21782 (only fits 1500 models).
