ETBC7 Brake Controller Installation Kit Wiring Guide for 2014 Ford F-150 with Factory 4-Pole
Question:
I have a 2014 F150 with factory 4 flat wire to rear of truck...there is no factory tow package. I purchased the TK90160 and corresponding wire adapter to plug into grey colored harness plug found on back of dash pocket.I also purchased the universal wire kit. After removing dash panel and installing brake controller, I plugged adapter cable from brake controller into factory plug, and the brake controller powered up with display OK.Now...where do I put the white wire coming from rear of truck into the blue wire from brake controller since there are no extra wires coming from brake controller? Is there a factory blue wire at rear of frame rail?

Thank you for your purchase of the Tekonsha Primus Brake Controller # TK90160, the wiring adapter # 22292 and the installation kit # ETBC7.
Follow your factory 4-pole wiring forward from the rear of the truck to where it plugs in to a connector on the frame rail. Inside the wire loom leading to that connector there should be a blue wire that carries the brake controller output signal. If there is no blue wire inside that wire loom you will need to manually run a wire from the 7-way's blue pigtail lead (making a connection with the included butt connector) forward to the cab where you will splice it into the blue output wire on the wiring adapter # 22292. Either way, the blue output wire from the controller harness needs to be connected to the blue pigtail lead on the 7-way.
