Backing Up With The Pro Series Weight Distribution System with Friction Sway Control

Question:

This W/D Hitch is listed as no backing up. I called the manufacturer and they told me I could back up with this. I dont understand why I cant back up. Will I have to use the sway device with this ?

We list the Pro Series Weight Distribution System - Round - 10,000 lbs GTW, 1,200 lbs TW # 49570 along w Friction Sway Control # 83660 as a system you cannot back up with because of the friction bar. The manufacturer has told us that backing up with the friction bar installed is not allowed and can damage the bar and that is why they use the easy release pin for the rear connection point. You can use the system without the sway control, but I recommend just easily removing the sway bar when you will be backing the trailer up because the sway control is really helpful for driving.
