Adjusting Head Of Husky Center Line Weight Distribution Hitch To Level Spring Bars

Question:

I recently purchased a husky centerline 32218 hitch. I installed it myself but am not sure if it is right. The trailer is almost perfectly level and the truck 2008 1/2 ton ram 1500 is a little higher in the back than the front. When I hooked up the bars, I had to raise the truck higher than I had to with my old round bar system. The trunnions seemed very hard to force in place although this is my first time using this style so Im not sure how hard it should be. Im attaching a picture. Should the bars be closer to the same level as the brackets? Also what does adjusting the head tilt do for leveling?

It sounds like you may need to adjust the angle of the head on your Husky Center Line Weight Distribution Hitch, part # HT32218.

You might try removing a couple of washers in the head so that the bars are a little closer to the brackets. I have attached a drawing that shows where the washers are located.
