Ceiling Garnish Compatibility For Rough Opening That is Not Square
Question:
I was hoping to use the vent trim piece to finish the area after replacing ceiling material in my early 60s era permanent RV-Trailer The interior measurements are not square as i expected them to be. It is 14 1/4 by 13 3/4. Is there play or leeway so that the trim piece that extends up is slightly smaller than the 14 1/4 square? I only need about an inch of extension up into the ceiling.

The roof garnish pieces are all 14-1/4 inches. There are different depths and it sounds like what you need is # VA0445-25 regarding depth. There is only a little bit of play as the molded corners do give it some rigidity. You may want to consider expanding the rough opening to fit or replacing the vent with a standard size.
