Recommendation on a Brake Controller for a 2012 Volkswagen Touareg

Hi, I see you have the Tekonsa 90195 Prodigy 3[top rated in reviews] and that it is compatible with my 2012 Vw Toureg TDI. I have the factory installed 7 pin wiring but wondering if there is a plug in behind the wheel for the prodigy 3 ?Where to look ? Also the tow capacity is 7700 lbs, but for 5000lbs RV people strongly recommend sway/weight balancing bars. VW is against this and I cant figure why. Thanks I look forward to hearing from you.

The Prodigy P3 Brake Controller, # 90195, can be installed on your 2012 Volkswagen Touareg. However, installation of this brake controller may require additional wiring under the dash of your vehicle.

If you are uneasy about searching for the correct wiring under your Touareg's dash to install the P3 controller, then the Tekonsha Prodigy RF Wireless Brake Controller, # TK94FR, will be a great option for you. The Prodigy RF will mount to your trailer and will be controlled by remote that uses radio frequency to communicate with the trailer mounted power module.

The cost of the Prodigy RF is less efficient than the P3 controller, but installation is less intensive to your Touareg. Also, the Prodigy RF will have the same features that are included on the P3 controller.

As for a weight distribution system, I would contact VW to see why they are against the use of a WD system on this vehicle. I could not find out why VW does not recommend a system in my research. Although the reasons could be the hitch may not be rated for use with a weight distribution system or the Touareg's frame may not be able to handle the stress on the system.
