Recommended Maintenance on Ultra-Fab Electric A-Frame Jack Part # UF38-944037
Question:
I purchased a UF38-944037 electric trailer jack from etrailer about 1-1/2 years ago Sept. 3, 2015. ITS GREAT!!!!!! What a back saver! It is an absolute phenomenal product. However, I have a few questions regarding the maintenance of it. What kind of grease do I use to lubricate this jack? I understand there is a grease fitting that you align on the shaft to do this. I also need to know how to lubricate the gear mechanism and the type of lubricant used for this as well. And finally, how often should I be lubricating the unit? Thank You Respectfully,

I spoke with my contact at Ultra-Fab regarding your Electric A-Frame Jack # UF38-944037. There is no specifically recommended grease to use but something like the LubriMatic LMX Industrial Strength Grease # L11390 should work great. There is not a specific grease fitting that is needed. The best way to access the moving parts is usually to spray the grease up the inner leg with the jack upside down.
Greasing the power head for the gears every other year, depending on usage, is a good schedule to keep. You can also grease the lower stem using the access holes on the outer tube which will allow you to grease the nut inside the leg. You can do this as often as 2-3 times a year, again just depending on how often you use the jack.
