Why Would Some Integrated Brake Controllers of 2016 Ram Work with Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator

Question:

I have 2 2016 cab and chassis dodge rams and 1 eoh trailer brakes system. 1 truck everything works lights, brakes, everything works. The other truck the lights work but no brakes. I know the truck sees the trailer because when unplugged it says trailer disconnected. The dodge dealer says truck is fine but something is not right. Any ideas?

What you described is just one of the weird things we have observed with factory integrated brake controllers and EOH actuators. We have spoken with the actuator manufacturers and they'll describe the same thing. The factory controller typically work fine but sometimes just don't like the EOH and the best option is to replace with an aftermarket one that is known to work like the Prodigy P2 part # 90885.
