Will Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 36597 Work with Hands-Free Liftgate on a 2017 Honda CR-V
Question:
The Honda CRV Touring hands free tailgate uses a kick motion about the center of the bumper to open and close. Will it still function with this hitch in place. The Honda OEM hitch requires extensive removal of parts and a different sensor.

It is my understanding that the Honda hitch crosstube goes straight across and isn't a V-shape like the Draw-Tite hitch # 36597. The design difference allows the Draw-Tite hitch to work with the hands-free liftgate sensor on the 2017 Honda CR-V.
However it is also possible for a hitch, any hitch, to partially block the sensor so if that happens you would have to kick your foot off to one side or the other of where you would normally activate the sensor.
