When Does Brake Output Circuit of Vehicle 7-Way Have Voltage
Question:
Does the brake terminal on the 7way plug always have power to it or only when the brake pedal is pushed

Expert Reply:
The brake output circuit on a 7-way (5:00 pin) will only have as much voltage on it as the brake controller is sending. Typically this going to depend on the amount of gain selected on the controller and other factors like brake controller style and ramp up speed of the controller.
The only time the circuit would have voltage without the brake pedal being applied would be if you had the manual override lever of the controller slid.
I attached a couple help articles on brake controllers for you to check out as well.
