Parts Needed to Install Brake Controller in 2009 Honda Pilot that Has Aftermarket 7-Way Installed

Question:

2009 Honda Pilot LX 2WD with standard factory hitch, but the 7-way was installed by a local shop, not factory. Worked fine with my no-brake PUP, but now I have a newer camper with brakes which came with a Primus IQ 90160. I bought a 3070-P, but cant find a connector under the dash- should I expect that since the 7-way was not factory installed? Do I need to install circuit breakers? Do I need to buy the ETBC7? It seems there are lots of things in that kit that I do not need, since I already have the 7-way connector installed. Thanks

We have just what you need but since you have an aftermarket 7-way you wouldn't want the # ETBC7 or the 3070-P.

For a wiring kit to install the brake controller and the 7-way adapter you would want the Wiring Kit for 2 and 4 Brake Electric Brake Controllers # 5506. This will provide the power source and ground for the wiring for the brake controller. You will need to test the wires from the brake pedal switch of your vehicle to find a circuit that has voltage when the brakes are applied and none when not applied. This will be the circuit you will run the red wire to.

Finally you will need to run a length of 10 gauge wire (part # 10-1-1) from the brake output circuit of the controller to the brake output circuit of the 7-way (blue wire). The # 10-1-1 is sold by the foot so you will need to order a quantity of the amount of feet you will need.
