Question:
I am looking at using this as a connector for a trolling motor for a pontoon boat. Can this connector be mounted on a horizontal surface like on the deck of the boat??

There isn't a required mounting orientation for 2-Pole Socket Connector # PK12801 so you could mount it face up on a horizontal surface. Keep in mind this is not a marine-rated product meaning that it is not going to keep water out. I recommend using some dielectric grease, # LT37534, between electrical connections. The grease is hydrophobic so it will repel moisture.
