Weight Capacity of etrailer Motorcycle Carrier e98873
Question:
Towing a chevy hhr and also want to bring my Yamaha zuma 125 scooter 269 lbs and the aluminum ramp I also purchased here. Maybe 50-60 lbs. they only talk about carrying bicycles but I should be fine with this 500 lb tongue weight?

Thank you for your purchases from etrailer.com, including the etrailer Motorcycle Carrier # e98873.
Since this carrier has a weight capacity of 500-lbs, your 269-lb scooter is well within its capabilities. You also want to check the safety sticker on your hitch to ensure it is rated for the combined weight of the carrier and scooter (58+269=327-lbs). You'll also want to check your HHR owner's manual to confirm the vehicle's own tongue weight (TW) rating also is high enough for this combined weight.
Since this unit will be mounted on a towed car I recommend using some additional tie-down straps to help stabilize the loaded carrier. Even a cost-effective simple set of straps like # EM05710 will help to reduce random motion while you travel.
